Before I begin I will say neobux is still a legit paying site and the only difference is how much is earned per click and not the sites integrity. Many people have said the site has turned scam, I have even claimed neobux has bought its coffin, but out of all that the site has not become a scam just yet.
To start off if you use neobux you noticed an advertisement called fixed advertisements, these are essentially permanent micro-ads for the time being. These ads are 5 second ads and they are worth $0.001, these ads may increase in a later date or have a range not yet seen. Now you see the reward you get and you like a lot of people start to freak out but wait look at the time. On other sites generally called aurora sites earn that much for 30+ seconds and not 5 seconds. Now to earn $0.01 you do need to look at 10 ads for a total of 50 seconds. This is where I realized something to get the normal $0.04 from your personal clicks you need to click 40 ads for a total of 200 seconds, before it was 4 ads for 120 seconds so an extra 80 seconds is not that much time difference. Now will there be 40 ads at the time when you logon? At the current date of 3/28/2011, no.
Now you see that it takes more time and more ads to earn the same and you are confused in how this is better for members. From using the site in these past few days I have noticed there have been more ad purchases of the $0.001-$0.015, personally not sure how the lowering of the permanent ads encouraged this but it does seem to work. Now if you were to check the site like I did for about 3 hours one day you have the ability to get a lot of ads, I earned $0.10+ with just my clicks.
Another part of the update is the introduction to NeoPoints. Neopoints currently convert to 1000=$1 rental balance. Currently to earn Neopoints, the only way to get them is by viewing ads but the admin has suggested that there will be other ways to come. A rumor on the forum is participating on the forum or chat will later be a method to earn these. So with earning one neopoint per ad makes the ad earnings go up from $0.001 to $0.002. So essentially to get your first set of rented referrals you need to click 300 ads total minimum.
The next part of the update is about referrals. Direct Referrals currently will earn you half of what they previously did per click but if they can get the same amount of ads I saw above, $0.10+ worth, then you will earn around $0.05+ from them. So basically if they are active and not depending on the basic ads you can earn more with them. The best thing you can do to try and promote activity is by showing what activity can do for you. Now the best part about referrals, rented referrals still earn the exact same as before. Meaning for the standard, now fixed, advertisements you still earn $0.005 as a standard member. So it is still possible to earn a good return on rented referrals if you manage them correctly. One thing I always say about rented referrals is don’t use money that you cannot afford to lose and with that you can either win or end where you started.
A new bonus was also added to the site. This bonus was random people will activate and be rewarded with essentially a $0.50 advertisement every hour. Basically neobux is giving away around $24+ a day for free and all it takes is clicking ads each hour. To earn and activate the advertisement you have to click ads each hour.
Neobux Admin has also hinted that there are more changes/updates to come and they believe it will help the site a lot.
On a personal note my rented referrals have become more active which means I have earned more from them. So the admin clearly has thought these changes through.
